Custom Attachment for Pre-Dawn Wildlife Audio Capture

Klover Products was approached by audio-visual technician, Paul Gedge, who requested a custom version of the KLOVER MiK16 to work with hisReally Right Stuff B2-LR-IIclamp.
The goal was to design a rear handle that would prevent the KLOVER MiK from rotating during use.
This custom piece was needed to enable easy orientation during setup in near-darkness.
The project presented several unique requirements and challenges:
Precise and repeatable orientation shifts: It had to allow quick and reliable orientation of the KLOVER MiK 16
Avoiding complexity: Adding additional parts to the KLOVER MiK would increase complexity.
Klover Products developed a custom piece designed to meet these specific requirements. Key features included:
Rosetta-Style Repositioning: TheRRS B2-LR-IIrosetta pattern was incorporated into the KLOVER MiK handle without additional parts.
Quick-Attach Mechanism: The combination of the KLOVER MiK and theRRS B2-LR-IIprovided a fast and reliable way to attach and reposition equipment.
Stable Alignment: The custom t-bar and RRS clamp allowed stable alignment of the parabolic microphone, ensuring high-quality audio.
The custom piece integrated seamlessly with the videographer’s existing setup. Its intuitive design made it easy to operate in low-light conditions, while the T-bar ensured stable and precise alignment of the KLOVER MiK 16 parabolic microphone.

This solution exceeded expectations, delivering improved performance in the field:
Faster Setup: The custom piece reduced setup time, allowing the videographer to focus on capturing fleeting wildlife activity.
Improved Usability: The design’s simplicity made it highly effective in pre-dawn and low-light conditions.
Enhanced Recording Quality: Stable alignment ensured synchronized, professional-grade audio and video capture.
Customer Satisfaction: The videographer was highly satisfied with the results and praised the solution’s practicality.
"This custom piece has been a lifesaver. It allows me to quickly reposition my equipment without fumbling in the dark, ensuring I never miss a moment. The seamless alignment between my camera and microphone has taken my wildlife videos to the next level."Paul Gedge, Wildlife Videographer
